Transcript for "From Fragmented Data to Real-Time Execution: How Quickbase and EdgeIQ are Partnering to Connect Manufacturing and Product Operations": Hey, everyone. Welcome to today's webinar with Edge IQ. Super excited to be talking about our new partnership and how we are working together to connect manufacturing and product operations. My name is Charlie Kleiner. I am a marketing manager here at Quickbase, really focused on our customer base and letting you all know about new products and features that we offer. So super, super excited about, this new partnership that we're gonna talk through today. Hopefully you all have heard a little bit about Edge IQ in the last month or so since we announced this partnership. But if not, you're in the right place. We're gonna talk a lot more about the partnership, and give a pretty cool example of, a customer that is using both Quickbase and Edge IQ today. So a few things before we actually dive in and I bring up, the teams to kind of talk through the partnership and the solution. This session is being recorded, so this will be made available on demand if you need to revisit the presentation, share it with anyone on your team, anything like that. The recording is typically processed about twenty four hours after the webinar, so we will send an email out tomorrow with that recording, so stay tuned for that. We also do wanna make sure that this webinar is as interactive as possible even though, of course, we're kind of presenting the content about the partnership, but we also have that great customer case story that we're gonna talk through at the end. So we do wanna make sure that we're addressing any questions that you all have live here today. So feel free to submit questions at any time through the q and a feature. You'll see that in the chat box. There should be a q and a tab as well. Again, submit questions through that q and a tab at any time today, and we will address as many questions that we can get to at the end of the time today. With that, I'm going to get us into what we're gonna talk about today. So first up, kind of introducing the team. Again, we've got a great group of people from the Quickbase team, the Edge IQ team, and, a customer who is going to share her story with us today. We'll talk a little bit about kind of the why behind the partnership, why we're all here today, then we'll dive into that customer case study with a tier one automotive supplier. Super excited, again to share more about that. Some really cool results for you all to see. We'll talk a little bit about kind of how we, made that happen, how this partnership works, all of that good stuff. And then again, at the end, we will reserve some time to answer any questions that you all have. So with that, I'm gonna start bringing up our experts for today. First and foremost, on the quick based side of the house, we have Corey Goolsby, who is our manufacturing sales manager. So, Corey, can you say hi and introduce yourself, please? Hi, everyone. I'm Corey Goolsby, and I lead a team of sellers at Quickbase that have responsibility for the majority of our approximately 1,500 manufacturing customers. I started my career as electrical engineer working in automotive where I manage factory automation projects, and I'm really excited about how the webinar today will bring that full circle. Perfect. Thanks. Thanks, Corey. Thanks for being here. And with him on the Quickbase side as well, we have Jacob Buzzowitz, who is a, lead solutions consultant. So, Jacob, can you introduce yourself, please? Yeah. Hi, everyone. This is Jacob Ozowitz. I'm a lead solution consultant here at Quickbase. I've been with the company for about four and a half years now, but been a user of Quickbase for over seven years now, pretty much my entire professional career. I work on our presales team, and my goal is essentially to help new and existing customers find that intersection between Quickbase as a platform with all the various capabilities we offer and all of the challenges that customers face in their business. So happy to be here with you all and talk about this new partnership today. Awesome. Thanks for being here, Jacob. With that, I will then bring up, our newest partners from the Edge IQ team. So first and foremost, we have Sanchita Kulkarni, who is a solutions architect at Edge IQ. Sanchita, thanks for being here. Can you introduce yourself, please? Thank you, Charlie. Hi, everyone. Sanjita Gulkani here. I am a solutions architect with Edge IQ. I collaborate with our prospects and customers from solution design to implementation so that they can enable their business outcomes across connected device ecosystems. I work very closely with the tier one automotive supplier whose transformation story we are here to share today. Excited to be here with all of you. Thank you. Great. Thanks, Sanchita. And last but not least, from the Edge IQ team, we have John Helm, who is the director of corporate sales. So, John, can you say hi and introduce yourself? Yes. I can. Thank you very much. Sorry. Good afternoon, and welcome. I'm John Helm, business development director at Edge IQ. As you could tell by my title, I or your Quickbase account executive are who you should contact if you'd like to meet and learn more about Edge IQ and the improvements that we can help you achieve and the and the outcomes that we can help you achieve, with your connected product connected products. And now I move. on. Thanks, John. We are going to then, dive into the content here, and I'm going to turn it over from here to our experts here today, starting off with Corey to talk a little bit about the partnership and why we're here today. Thanks for that, Charlie. So we're here to discuss the enormous opportunity in digitizing and integrating data at the core of your businesses. Being able to share data across the manufacturing process is critical to streamlining your operations and optimizing your competitive advantage. So most manufacturers have no shortage of data. The challenge is getting the right data at the right time to make better decisions. Right now, two out of three workers spend somewhere between ten and twenty hours each week chasing data across different systems. That slows productivity and delays decision making. The root cause is the is disconnected systems. Data spread across ERP, CRM, spreadsheets, and other tools that do not communicate with one another well. At the same time, some of the most important data lives in the operations layer layer, what many refer to as the MOM layer. That includes machine data, production, quality, and maintenance. This is where our partnership helps. Edge IQ and Quickbase bring that data together and connect it to workflows so you can take action. Today, we will show you how to turn disconnected data into real operational insight. So who is Quickbase? We're an AI enabled dynamic work management platform that lets you build and manage applications around your business processes instead of forcing them to fit rigid software. We connect the systems you already have so you can bring your most important data together and automate it or automate workflows directly from it. But this is not just about visibility. Quickbase becomes a system of action. You can interact with your data in real time through updates, approvals, and alerts, all with secure and governed all in a secure and governed environment that works well with IT. We've been around since 1999 and have continued to grow both through product development and acquisitions. Today, we not we not only support the the office team, but we also help the fill and shop floor. Now I'd like to bring in John from Edge IQ to talk about how they expose and orchestrate the machine and device data that is critical for our shared manufacturers. John, welcome you to stage. Yep. Thank you, Corey. I wanna start by thanking everybody for attending. It's a real pleasure to be here today and talking about the about our partnership. So what is so how do we do this? So we help organizations connect and operationalize data not possible before without hefty investments in capital, time, and labor. Edge IQ is purpose built to ingest, normalize, and contextualize all types of operational data. It actually speaks the language your equipment and connected products already use, transforming fragmented operational signals into actionable intelligence, which means for connected operations, all signals generated in your plant and in the field can be used. Who knew? With our partner, Quickbase, we can bring real time device, factory, and product intelligence into workflows where decisions are made and action is taken. And for connected products, we can enable a single, unified operational view of every device in your fleet and every critical asset across your operations. True management fulfilled. I'm supposed to be pushing this. Yeah. There you go. So, with this new found reliable power, we help make it immediately clear what needs attention, who is responsible, and how to ensure issues are fully resolved across the plant floor and throughout the life cycle of the connected products in the field. I wanna say welcome to a new world of significantly less or never bad surprises or emergency all hands meetings. Today, with the help of Jennifer McBroom, our tier one automotive supplier customer, you're gonna see, I give you a new connected operations don with Edge IQ and Quickbase. And now I hand it back to, Sanchita. Thank you, John. In manufacturing organizations, it is not an absence of data problem, but that the data they have is in the wrong place. As this forest research found, 98 of manufacturers are struggling to make use of the data they already generate. Manufacturing environments are complex with hundreds of work zones and disparate systems. This means that operational data is often trapped in siloed legacy systems. I will now hand it off to Jacob to explain how we solve this particular problem. Thanks, Hachita. And let's take some time to talk more about the opportunity in front of us today. At the center of that opportunity is the shop floor, which is the heart of all of your manufacturing operations. Everything your business does ultimately supports or is driven by what happens on that floor. Because of that, the shop floor generates a vast amount of valuable data that can be used to better understand performance, identify inefficiencies, and continuously improve operations. But, historically, that data hasn't been easy to access or use. In the traditional model and still in many environments today, machines on the shop floor operate largely disconnected from back office systems. Information is often gathered manually with someone walking the shop floor using paper and a clipboard. And while that approach can capture some data, it's limited in both scale and accuracy. As a result, valuable insights are quite literally being left on the floor. Even in more modern connected environments where machine data is captured automatically, that data often isn't integrated into the operational systems where decisions are made, or there's simply so much of it that becomes difficult to separate meaningful signals from background noise. On the other side of the spectrum, we have Quickbase. Customers rely on Quickbase to orchestrate back office operations, gain visibility into their business, and automate workflows across a wide range of use cases. But, historically, Quickbase hasn't had a simple, direct way to interface with machines on the shop floor. That gap can create real disconnect between the work that's planned in Quickbase and what's actually happening on the floor in real time. It can also introduce delays, especially when teams rely on manual workarounds for critical processes like downtime reporting or repair requests. And in manufacturing, lack of connectivity and delays really matter. Every minute your machines are running without visibility into performance is a missed opportunity to improve throughput, reduce waste, and maximize output. And every extra minute of unplanned downtime can translate into directly into thousands of dollars in lost production capacity. This is exactly why we chose Inter strategically partner with Edge IQ. Edge IQ is the bridge that connects your shop floor to operational tools like Quickbase. Machine data can be captured and ingested in real time, and this data can be directly integrated with your Quickbase apps. EdgeIQ brings a single orchestration layer that unifies data from siloed legacy systems and instantly unlocks operational insights from the shop floor. Imagine continuously capturing machine performance data like cycle times, throughput, or utilization, and automatically feeding that into a Quickbase app to track trends, identify inefficiencies, and surface opportunities for improvement. Or imagine a world where a sensor detects an issue in a machine, and this can instantly create and assign a service ticket in Quickbase while alerting the right stakeholders. Together, Quickbase and Edge IQ can make this a reality. We'll hear how this actually comes together in the real world from one of our customers up next. Awesome. Thank you, Jacob. So, yeah, like Jacob said, we are going to now be hearing from one of our customers who is using both Quickbase and Edge IQ. He was really an early adopter of this solution together. So super, super excited to have her here and go through this, story with you all. So we have Jennifer McBroom who is at a tier one automotive supplier. Jen, thank you so much for being here. Can you, introduce yourself and tell us about your company and kinda take it from here? Hi, Charlie. Thanks for having me. Hi, everyone. I'm Jennifer McBroom. I've been with my company for about a year and a half now, and I'm a Quickbase developer. So I'm still somewhat new to both my company as well as Quickbase. And as mentioned, we are a tier one automotive supplier, and we focus on stamping and assembly parts. So I'm gonna take you through our story. So prior to adding Edge IQ, to our platform, we struggled with gathering our downtime and production data. We previously invested in a system a system that was supposed to help provide us with the visibility needed to understand our production KPIs, but we found that our users struggled to get the data in an efficient way. The system was only capable of simply collecting the data, So the end user was left with the responsibility of sorting and sifting through it to create the reports needed in Excel. Over time, the end users abandoned the system and went back to recording everything manually. So as you can see some of these points, this created low visibility to true downtime. Our target numbers were rarely met, false discovered post production run because we were finding out after the fact, and our data was manually recorded. So this is how our manual process has affected us. We've taken our operators away from the line for at least twenty minutes of their day, every day, per shift to manually write down their downtime on a sheet of paper. That's a loss of almost 20 parts per machine. We also have a dedicated full time employee for each shift that collects all of those sheets from our operators and then reenters the data into an Excel sheet. Hope they have good handwriting. Right? From there, the data in Excel is then sorted out and charts are and graphs are made to report the next day. Line stops and maintenance calls experience a delay to limited visibility. They're currently made by supervisors monitoring their area and are communicated out by radio. I'm sure you can imagine the potential flaws in this. Interpreting handwriting, keystroke errors on data transfer to Excel, and the biggest item being that we were relying on our operators to drive our production KPIs. Not an ideal situation. So as we did the cost study, we found that by adopting Edge IQ, our our ROI study shows that we can save at least 260,000 immediately just from the inefficiencies we just discussed. So consisting of the manual entry from the operator, our full time employees rerecording the data into Excel, and a reduction in downtime due to live communications. These are just the initial savings. We're currently still developing and trialing this application in real time. Once this application does go into full production and matures, we anticipate to see more realized savings. I'm gonna turn this back over to Sanchita so she can explain how this is possible. Thank you, Jen. So how did we do it? Jen just walked us through the situation at her organization before we embark on this transformational journey with her. Like Jen explained just now, when your machine data lives separately from your business systems, there's no real time synchronization between the shop floor, which is where all of the action is going on, which is the center of all the action and your systems and applications which are driving all the operational decisions that are being made. This is the very problem that Edge IQ and Quickbase helps solve for this customer. What you're seeing here is a depiction of the Edge IQ workflows that enable bringing in key operational metrics that all of you may also have. Think of cytokines, status codes for operations, supervisor bat scan data, forum information, etcetera, straight from the shop floor systems into the Quickbase applications. Now if you look to the left of this chart, you will see a logo that you might be familiar with. Our customer here uses a system called Capware that collates data and feeds it into other systems such as their MES, ERP, etc. Edge IQ workflows enable the ingestion of machine data such as cycle times, which is being sent by Kepware to their other systems. The workflows leverage Edge IQ's powerful ingestion and orchestration capabilities that provide our customer visibility into these critical operational metrics in real time as production is happening on the shop floor. So as production runs continue, Edge IQ orchestrates the process of getting the machine data into Quickbase. Edge IQ ingests the raw machine data. We extract the information from the incoming messages and then process it according to the type of data and present it in a quick pace ready format ready to pass in ready to pass right into the quick pace application. Now if you look at the third of the three blue boxes here, it reads bat scan. The bad scan process is a great example of how we enable staff in the front office to instantly know if a supervisor or an employee has scanned their badge at one of the itemized anywhere on the shop floor. Edge IQ workflows are helping our customer know when a bad scan event occurs, at which PLC, and for how long. Now this helps the front office log and keep track of production interventions and their durations. So Edge IQ enables connecting your shop floor data to your business workflows in real time so that you can go from having siloed operational data to synchronized operations. Now I want to take some time to talk to you all about a problem that I'm sure is going to sound familiar to most of you. Now imagine this. There is an active forum event in progress. Production is still continuing because they on the shop floor are unaware. There is a risk of bad parts or material. And now the production supervisor has to walk right up to the operator to tell them that, hey. There's a there's an active four m event. You I'm sure you may have wondered, is there a better way? What we are seeing here, this, visual chart that you're looking at is an example of a key operational problem that we help solve for our customer together with Quickbase. So our customer here updates their forum events through a dedicated application inside Quickbase. Now this raw forum event, which just says that yes, there's active forum event going on, is sent to Edge IQ through Quickbase. Edge IQ processes the event received, correlates it to the right PLC, logs and stores this event. We also enable real time state management and synchronization for four ms events for all PLCs. We then enable the last mile delivery of these events, ensuring that operators on production lines can instantly see that there is a four ms event going on as soon as it is triggered inside Quickbase. So there's no more walking up to operators right onto the shop floor to tell them, hey, there's a four m event going on. So this completes this bidirectional loop from Quickbase back to the shop floor. So Edge IQ has helped bridge the gap between real time data and inputs to and from the shop floor for this customer. Now, I'll hand it back to Jen so she can tell you how this and, how this solution has transformed the day to day operations at her organization. Thanks, Sanchita. So as Sanchita was just talking, to you about active forum change events, that was a problem. We do have a forum change event system created and developed in in Quickbase, But prior to Edge IQ, it was siloed. The way of communication was simply through email, and operators nine times out of 10 were unaware that there was even one of these changes occurring on the machines that they were working on. So with that JEDQ as well, it's improving our conditions. Team members now can act before our defects occur. We have tickers timing down, knowing how long we have to actually run parts before we potentially could run into an issue with four m's. So that's a huge improvement as well, and no wasted parts. So force compliance also falls into this. If we run through the set amount of parts that we're allowed to while this forum change event is taking place, we can then stop our machine. Without having anybody to run over and stop the machine or or or be worried, we can stop with force compliance and then move forward, do what we need to do just as an extra precaution to, not pass a bad part. So I'm gonna run you through a little bit of this flowchart here that I've, developed, and this was kind of one of my use cases as an internal selling point here. It's gonna be odd for me to kinda walk you through this, so bear with me because I don't have any pointers here. But this is a flowchart of what our quick base applications now look like with Edge IQ. And the overall objective in this flowchart is to show system connectivity. A couple of these applications were already built prior to us adopting Edge IQ, and they were simply ran in silo, and were tailored to that department's needs so that they could respond. But they weren't yet quite talking to each other because we didn't have that full circle going on. And this is where Edge IQ came in. So if you can see on the top kinda right, that first dark blue circle, that's Edge IQ, and they're in between our shop floor and going out outward to our applications. So it's feeding our real time data, giving us our production KPIs, telling us if we're running fast enough, too slow, downtime, any downtime issues that are occurring. To the left of that, all the way to the far left, you'll see my production engineering site, which feeds our real time data app giving us KPIs such as how fast we should be running, what parts are supposed to be on this line, what type of equipment is supposed to be on this line. Important a, b, c is manufacturing terms here, guys. But it's feeding the real time data. So now as our real time data is flowing through, we're able to realize if we're on time, behind schedule. Are we producing to our schedule parts? Are we down? How long are we down? And what's going on? And this is all a visual dashboard that is live and is getting ready to exist in our shop floors. You can imagine the excitement. Below that is an array of things, and that's just to feed my maintenance, department, but it is still a huge, you know, connecting point here. So it's equipment tracking. We're keeping track of where our equipment is, its health, how often we're fixing it, doing preventative maintenance, and the status of it. And then we've also been able to create a dashboard for our maintenance team as well so that they can respond quicker to any downtime calls when machines need maintenance. And then just a little bit over to the right, we have our forum management. Again, I don't wanna be redundant, but that was also a siloed application. And now we have the ability to go full circle with communication. So not only are we creating forums in the office, it's alerting our operators, it's alerting our maintenance or and our supervisors on the shop floor, and it's all live communication. One of the other abilities that between Edge IQ and Quickbase has given me is that we were able to leverage the Twilio channel within Quickbase as well. And so now if we're down in certain instances, if it's a certain downtime call or maintenance is needed, all of our engineers now are receiving emails. So they're or I'm sorry. Not emails, text messages. So they're no longer burdened to having to look for an email message. I mean, it's right on their hip, and they have that call. They can still use the radios, but they have a live call at their fingertips now. And give me one sec. And this is just some of our sample data, of what some of these dashboards are looking at. The two big pieces on the left here, that is simply mimicking our production control reports. So you can see every shift, our KPIs that go through it, did we meet our did we meet our targets? Did we meet our schedule? Were we down? How long were we down for on that line? And then below, it will give you an example. It's just kind of presenting out the different types of downtime losses that have occurred for that line by shift. To the right, you can see we're obviously still under development right now, but one of the biggest things that's gonna live on our shop floor is being able to see every zone that we have on our floor, how many parts is producing at an hourly rate, and it's also going to show the current status. And that is all with the help of Edge IQ as well, feeding that simultaneous data from all of our machines out there, and they can instantly see their condition at a glance on the shop floor instead of running around and trying to find out any longer. So our future state. Real time data is now flowing from our machines to our business applications. We have accurate downtime reporting. Our operators are no longer dictating to us what our machine numbers are and our KPIs. We now know and have a true source of data flowing, from our machines themselves. We're able to have live production reporting and instant fault notifications. That's it. Awesome. Oh, I'm sorry. No. It's not. I'm kidding, Charlie. We have just one more ROI slide just as a reminder. So you initially saw our initial ROI, and this is just a projection of what it could be. My company currently supports five plants. We have five plants here within The US and two others that we are very close with, in Mexico and as well as Japan. So with this implementation, we have thirty days. Right? So no more fuss with trying to figure out, decode things on our own. We're able to Edge IQ is able to aid with getting that data to us quickly, and we can have our systems up and running within thirty days. And our projected future value, if we were to implement this in all seven plants, we're looking at 1,800,000 alone and just seeing real data. So that's huge. Now we're done, Charlie. Amazing. Thank you so much, Jen, for sharing your story with us, and those are some just incredible results, especially, you know, so early on in the partnership. Really excited to, you know, continue working together moving forward and kind of seeing, what else you all have. I'm excited to see Jen, like, you know, in six months to a year, how we how we increase some of those ROI, numbers that you showed. So, we'll we'll stay in lockstep on that, but, super excited. And thank you again for sharing that story. So, to everyone who's here, we do have time for, q and a now. So, again, feel free to submit questions through the q and a box. You can continue to do so as we answer some of the questions that have already, rolled in. So feel free to submit those at any time. Questions for Jen, questions for Sanchita and John from Edge IQ, questions for Jacob and Corey from Quickbase. All fair game, so, feel free to ask away. Before we get into that, just a couple of final reminders. First and foremost, we do have our upcoming event, Empower in Houston, May. I am gonna drop the link into the chat here for you all to take a look at that. Really good opportunity, you know, if you found this valuable, hearing Jen's story and seeing some of the new, kind of features and partnerships and things, Empower is a really great event for a lot more content like that. You know, we'll be on-site sharing a lot of our new features to Quickbase and Fastfield, and we'll have a ton of really cool customer stories just like Jen's, sharing kind of new ideas and new ways to use Quickbase, use our new features, use our partners, and really get the most out of your experience. So definitely take a look at that. I would love to see as many of you as possible in Houston this May. Again, reminder, this session was also recorded. It is still being recorded through q and a, in fact, and we will send that recording out to you all via email tomorrow. So stay tuned for that. Alright. Now we will get into questions. So Jen is still on stage here with me, and I'm going to bring back John, Sanchita, Jacob, and Corey to help out with q and a here. Again, feel free to keep submitting questions. I'm gonna take a look at what we've got, and we will start start just going through all these questions here. Jen, looks like there's a bunch for you, which is great. So hope you're ready for that. First and foremost, Jen, couple people are curious how you actually found Quickbase and Edge IQ when you were kind of starting this process Okay. So Quickbase was already residing with my company. So that was a learning curve for me there. out? So no finding points, unfortunately, for you there or tips. However, Edge IQ Edge IQ was introduced to me through Quickbase. It was collaboration. Quickbase is great with collaborating with their customers. We talk quite often. Great helpers. And I had came to them with, hey. I really wanna make this happen. And they said, let's try Edge IQ, and away we went. Perfect. Love it. Thanks, Jen. Let's see. We also have a question here. Most shop floors are running equipment from multiple different decades. So how do you bring a twenty year old PLC into a modern data workflow without out becoming a full infrastructure project? I was gonna say our PLCs are just as old, and we have had no problem. And Edge IQ has had no problem. It's just really about modifying your tags from within. And, Sancheta, I mean, maybe you can help piggyback off of this. Yeah. Thank you, don't. do it. So we can work with whatever systems you have on your shop floor today. So, like for example, with Jen, they were using Capware, so we were able to integrate into Capware to get all of that machine data out from the PLC. So no matter how old or insured the PLCs are, you must be having some existing system and to manage those PLCs and we can very well connect to them. Perfect. Thank you both. Let's see here. Jen, I believe this one's for you as well. What kind of costs did you run into with the previous solution you tried to implement? A lot. I I can't even put a number on the cost or the losses that we've incurred from not being able to see our data live. The previous system that we were working, and it is another realized cost savings in the near future, is the previous system was charging us for every transaction that was coming out of our machines. You can imagine I've got about 30 lines in one plant, and multiple machines, multiple parts. And all the codes that are going through there, they actually had a limit the amount of codes that they could see due to those becoming costly. And, again, all those transactions were metered, and they were buying points and craziness. None of that's happening here. This data is flowing freely. One cost. No more per transaction deals here. So we're we're looking forward to also being able to turn that off, and save some money there. Other costs. It's just gonna be a time saver. I mean, if I could put anything else on it, it would be a time saver. Being able to communicate live with the text messages through Quickbase, being able to see your floor, your shop floor at a live status throughout, huge. I mean, like I said, we were spending a lot of time running around, walking around, communicating. We all have radios, but sometimes you really gotta be there, right, or you gotta understand why. We have that better communication now, and there's no more finger pointing. Right? Our data, it's one true source and one stream of data flowing through that's feeding all of our analytics now. It's not pencil whipping, fudging it because assembly wants to look good or maintenance says it's not our problem. It's assembly. So there's no more flights. The data is true. I think I'll end there. Awesome. Thank you, Jen. That's great. Couple of questions in here that I will speak to really quick just about, again, the recording and the PowerPoint deck as well. We will send the recording as well as a copy of the PowerPoint deck, tomorrow via email. But also one thing to highlight, since we've got that question, you should be able to see a docs tab, by the chat and the q and a feature. Both a version of the slide deck are in there as well as a few other resources about, the AgileQ and Quickbase partnership. So definitely check those things out, as well right within the platform. But, again, we'll also send all of that, via email to you tomorrow. So, stay tuned for that. But, again, you're able to click into that, real time right now, which is great. Alright. Question. Let's see. What is the moment in a deployment where a customer realizes that this is actually working? Jen, do you want to start us off and then I can jump in? I think, I can add to what you say. Can you share a little bit about when did you realize that this is working first? Gosh. Almost immediately. Right? Like, the the results were quick, and they were the way that we have designed it, it it was a pretty easy data transition between Sanchita was my partner in this. So between Sanchita and I and being able to figure out the data points that needed to come over, that transition was extremely quick. I mean, we got through writing it out and figuring out the pipeline in Quickbase, and that data was immediately streaming through. And to be able to show that is Right. go. So, the beauty here of the architecture behind Edge IQ is that you are not. spending weeks and months trying to work out what the requirements are or doing any kind of custom development, finding some kind of systems integrator to try and integrate with your existing systems to probably solve one problem or use case. Then again, doing another piece of work again with the same SI for another use case. So once we are, once we are integrated with your system, then, it's pretty quick for us to be able to get the data out. And when I speak of integrations, these are just workflows that we leverage in the back end that we can quickly build out to be able to extract all of your data from the PLCs and the machines from the shop floor. And like Jen said, then there is no more running around trying to figure out, okay, is there a forum event? Who scanned the badge? At which PLC? What's going on? Data is flowing in in real time. You have an exact view of what's going on on your shop floors. Perfect. Thank you both. This one looks, like it is for maybe a combination of Jen and, the Quickbase team. But, can you share a little bit more about, the Twilio channel that you mentioned, Jen? Twilio channel. So I'm a let Quickbase kinda take away on that. I don't I don't wanna say too much, but it is a cool little channel to have. I believe it's available to everybody. You do have to subscribe within Twilio itself and get that set up. However, that culminates phone numbers. And from there, I'm able to send countless text messages out to whomever I need just through Quickbase, and it it's just reading off of a Quickbase table through a pipeline. I don't know if any of you guys experience this, but we we leverage Twilio because like, my phone, personally, I have AT and T as a carrier, and they've stopped this SMS messaging. So I couldn't I wasn't able to receive a message, and that's why we leveraged Twilio. Perfect. Thank you, Jen. Jen, another one for you. What's, what other solutions did you consider or could you have used? Did you look at consultants or systems integrators building custom solutions? That's a good question. No. Actually, we haven't. We wanted our solution to run within Quickbase because we're trying to create applications that talk amongst each other. Right? And and we're able to flow that data and communicate through their proper channels within our Quickbase applications. To be honest with you, when we first worked when we first looked at this data and it was introduced to me, all the numbers in the PLCs were coming over as zeros, ones. They were all numerical. And I was like, well, how how the heck am I supposed to convert this? Right? And and the way that they were structured structured too, the way that they were flowing in was gonna be a difficult feat. And as I said, our plants already have existing systems that somewhat do that, and they're they're getting the data and compiling it. So our worst case scenario would be trying to leverage that that dump of data other than going out and seeking elsewhere. So we got really lucky that quick at Quickbase introduced us to Edge, and the solution sold itself. Right. Jen, Yeah. I saw that. I saw I've seen the zeros and the ones. that are coming in. That is the beauty of the Edge IQ workflows there. Right? That with the workflow, we have been able to ingest all of this raw PLC data that's coming in. But then Jen has certain requirements on how best she wants to visualize this data and manage this data inside of Quickbase. As I mentioned earlier during our presentation was also that we normalize this data and we also transform it into a Quickbase ready format, which means that Jen doesn't have to do a lot of like playing around with the data. She can simply take what's being sent to her and then she's simply building views that work for her and for management to be able to understand what's going on on the shop floor across the plant. So, you're not working with zeros and ones on spreadsheets trying to work out, okay, what happened during the last shift? You have instant real time visibility into what is going on and possibly even making adjustments while the production run is going on. So it's not periodically updated. It is in real time. As day as production happens, data flows in, sent over to Quickbase. It's going in. Jen, you literally have seen your cycle times and everything going in real time. Right? Absolutely. I can gauge all of my cycle times, and we've gone out there with stopwatches, to see how real real time this was, if there was any kind of delays, and there really wasn't. We were on point even with the text messages. I mean, everything's time stamped through our system, and we could see like, I could be on the line and press a button. And just like that, not even a minute later, I've got the text. So it's been phenomenal in in real time. Perfect. You both answered the question that, came in that I was gonna ask next about real time data or periodic. So love that. But kind of following on from that second part to this question that we got here. Do you leverage Quickbase for conditions based maintenance? Can you talk about that? I I need condition based maintenance. I need a little more explanation on that. I'm not I'm not familiar. Hi there. Person who asked that question, if you have a follow-up there to give us a little more, info on what you mean, we will happily, get that info to Jen and ask that question. Next, one, Charlie. though. I, can. probably elaborate, I believe, what they're what what they may be referring to there. So, yes, you can utilize, the solution to look at different tolerances and things like that that are that are coming in from from the different sensors to see if a machine is operating out of spec. And then you have the potential for, that machine to either do things like create a a service ticket for someone to then engage with that maintenance, you know, issue. Or, you can, also, you know, stop production or whatever is the most, appropriate action based on, the feedback that you're getting from that machine. So it it is definitely something that you could leverage the solution to do. As Jen mentioned, she's still kinda rolling out her solution and and developing things, but that is something that that is possible to do with this solution. Thank you, Corey. Perfect. Thanks, Corey. Jen, let's see. What pushback did you receive when you were trying to implement the solution? At first, there were a couple. Right? So sometimes it was cost because as we know, we're all trying to save money in here, everywhere in the world today. But that solution sold itself, because the ROIs realized were far exceeded and paid for themselves paid for the system, like, within a month of it going up in full production. Another pushback that I got was that existing system that I talked to you about. They had already invested money into that system, and we're currently paying a lot of money to get all of this data. And there was some grief, right, in in starting over. I don't know if it's grief or maybe, you know, one of those, well, we want our system, you know, and I had to get over that hump. And then that flowchart that I showed you, that was a big driver as well To be able to show all the connectivity and what we could gain out of that, that was a huge selling point for me to be able to get over all of those bumps. Perfect. Thank you, Jen. We have one question left, and I purposely saved this one for the end. It came in earlier, but I thought this would be a good way to kinda wrap us up. So, Jen, what would you tell someone else who is on the fence about, the solution? About the solution, I would say try it. It is money well spent. Quickbase has enough functionality that you can create so many different views, compile your data, and configure it the way that you need to see it. I mean, I just showed you guys bits and pieces, but I I've got data streaming through endlessly, with every single cycle. So you can get to every minuscule data point you need or get really high level with it. But nothing beats a true source of data. Right? Love it. Jen, I lied to you. There one more question came in, so I'm gonna throw another. one your way. My apologies. But that's a great question. So I I love that we got another one in while you're answering that. Jen, does your company also use an MES, or are you using Edge IQ in place of an MES? What's an MAS? Manufacturing Yeah. what is it? It's a manufacturing execution system, for managing, like, a a line versus, the kinda your overall manufacturing MOM process. No. We are only using Edge IQ. Again, that system that they had in place, not only was it failing as the end user, it it was not doing half as much as what Edge IQ is providing to us right now. And the results have been amazing. I've got people in awe at our plants. It's it's going to be showcased quite a bit. And, no, I don't believe MES is being used at all. I I believe I hate to say it. I mean, I'm only a year and a half old here, but I've been around in the automotive industry, and we are a little bit archaic in our methods of how we manage things. Right? Excel sheets, old systems that you can't really do anything with the data until you dump it out into some Excel platform. So that answer is no. Jen, if I can add to that. So, Yes. Absolutely. yeah. So we are not, we we are not a manufacturing execution system. We are a device and data orchestration platform. Which means that wherever your data sits inside of your manufacturing flow, whichever system it may be, we are able to connect to that and we will be able to extract that data and orchestrate that over into Quickbase where then you can visualize that data. So you're taking informed decisions in based on real time data that's happening on your shop floor. So, like for example, in, Jen's employer's case, they use Capware and, another system. So we integrate directly with that system. So, based on whatever your architecture looks like inside of the shop floor, we can work with you to work out how is it that we can extract data from your, SCADA systems or MESs or anything. Awesome. Thank you. That is it. Those are all our questions that we have. We will wrap things up from there then. So, once again, thank you so much to Corey and Jacob from the Quickbase team, Sanchita and John from the Edge IQ team, and, of course, to Jen for joining us and sharing, her story of success with Quickbase and Edge IQ. You know, super super cool to hear that story and, lots of great questions at the end. So appreciate everyone also for joining in, asking really great thoughtful questions as well. Really appreciate that. A couple final reminders. Again, we did record this session. We will send that out to you all via email tomorrow, with a copy of the slide deck as well as some additional Quickbase and Edge IQ resources. Again, those resources are currently in the docs tab within, this webinar platform here as well. So you can access those, at any time that you see fit. Again, empower in May and Houston, we would love to see as many of you there as possible. I saw a couple of Texas folks in the chat here today. So nice and local to all of you. Looking forward to that event. And again, hope to see many of you there. And that is it. That's all we have for today. So, until next time. Thank you all again so much for attending. Thanks to all of our wonderful speakers and everyone have a great rest of your day.
